Liverpool’s pursuit of Florian Wirtz has taken a major step forward, with fresh reports suggesting the Reds have received yet another crucial ‘green light’ to push the deal over the line.
Florian Wirtz has reportedly expressed his approval for a move to Anfield, placing Liverpool in pole position to seal the deal ahead of other top European clubs.
Despite interest from Bayern Munich, the 22-year-old German international is said to favour a Premier League switch, with Liverpool emerging as his preferred destination.
Liverpool have reportedly been granted budget approval by their owners FSG, according to Bild, effectively giving the “green light” to the club for making the move forward with the signing.
With the club’s owners’ backing the ambitious move, momentum is building fast for what could be one of the biggest transfers of the summer.

Bayer Leverkusen have reportedly set a valuation of €150 million (£126 million) for Florian Wirtz, a fee that would surpass Liverpool’s current transfer record, but Liverpool are reportedly aiming to negotiate that figure down.
There were also reports claiming that the German side are looking for player plus cash deal, which will see one Liverpool star going to Leverkusen.
Liverpool had apparently submitted an initial proposal for the 22-year-old midfielder worth in excess of €100m (£84m) earlier this week and are now holding further discussions regarding bonuses and other details of the agreement.
Fabrizio Romano (via GIVEMESPORT) said, “So Liverpool are working on the Milos Kerkez deal and then for Florian Wirtz, agreement with the player done, and conversations underway with Bayer Leverkusen.
“After the first proposal, they are discussing the bonuses, they are discussing all the details of this deal, but for sure, they are working hard to get the Florian Wirtz deal done, and it won’t take too long.
“So that’s the message coming from those close to the deal.
And my expectation remains for this deal to be completed for Florian Wirtz to Liverpool.”
